An Exploratory Study Using Public-Domain Evidence
The IPAI Gujarat Chapter has undertaken this exploratory study to understand the emerging landscape of Digitisation of Local Governance in India through publicly available evidence relating to Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), and the wider institutional and sectoral ecosystem within which they operate.
The study examines the evolving digital ecosystem supporting planning, financial management, programmes, assets, public services, monitoring, audit and reporting. Drawing upon public-domain evidence across twelve development sectors, it highlights the growing availability of information at different institutional and spatial levels and the opportunity to improve its quality, connectivity and effective use for informed and evidence-enabled Local Governance.
